Veterinary Emergency Department Manager

**About the Role**
BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ER Service Head to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our emergency department, ensuring the highest level of patient care and exceptional client service.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage the schedule for all ER clinicians, including PTO requests and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet the needs of our patients.
- Facilitate regular ER clinician meetings and participate in hospital leadership meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Mentor ER clinicians and new ER/ICU support staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their roles.
- Oversee ER clinician case management, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Integrate the emergency and specialty services to successfully manage all hospitalized cases, acting as a liaison between ER clinicians and specialty clinicians.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of patient safety reporting as it pertains to the emergency department.
- Actively contribute to recruiting new emergency clinicians, ensuring that new hires have a positive onboarding experience and are set up for success in their roles.
- Assist in customer service issues as needed, working with management to resolve issues and improve client satisfaction.
- Partner with hospital leadership to identify opportunities for improvement and implement new initiatives to enhance ER patient care, medical protocols, and client service levels.
- Stay up-to-date on hospital policies and procedures, working collaboratively with the Medical Director and other hospital leaders to ensure compliance and best practices.
