Job Summary

The Technical Program Manager will be responsible for leading the transition of Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) to a world-recognized leader in aircraft electrical power systems for small to mid-sized business jets, UAV's and rotorcraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Management: Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers at all levels, including senior executives, to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Contract Management: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and communicate contract requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • New Product Introduction: Lead the transition from development to production of new products, including determining initial manufacturing build requirements, developing build plans, and coordinating with Operations.
  • Product Changes: Manage all change and improvement activities associated with assigned products, including developing plans, communicating with stakeholders, and allocating resources.
  • Product Cost: Coordinate process improvements and design improvements to reduce the cost of assigned products, and lead cross-functional teams to address product cost improvement initiatives.
  • Yield Management: Ensure Yield targets are met by monitoring Yield data, taking proactive steps to address issues, and communicating performance to management.
  • Failure Investigations: Lead or support failure investigations, including identifying root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Management/Communication: Manage all activities associated with assigned products, including prioritization, responsibility, and closure, and maintain tools to effectively manage and communicate these activities.
  • Technical Knowledge: Develop and maintain good technical understanding of assigned products, and mentor or teach others about the performance and design of assigned products.
Requirements
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, MBA preferred, and five (5) or more years of work experience in program management, operations, engineering, procurement or other related functions.
  • Leadership Experience: Prefer four (4) or more years of multi-discipline team leadership experience.
  • Aerospace Industry Experience: Experience in the Aerospace Industry is highly desired.
