Key Responsibilities

This role is pivotal in delivering superior design specifications that align with the contractual obligations between Mantis and our clients, ensuring professionalism, safety, and financial viability. You will collaborate with various internal teams to provide project estimates that cater to multiple clients while adhering to all internal and industry design standards.

Roofing and Building Envelope Design
  • Develop comprehensive roof design plans, technical specifications, bidding documents, drawings, and detailed construction elements.
  • Offer recommendations and devise effective strategies for total roof management based on thorough inspections and assessments.
  • Generate cost estimates for repairs, restorations, maintenance, and roof replacements for both individual and multi-building portfolios.
  • Engage with architects, engineers, contractors, property managers, and client teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain an extensive knowledge of roofing practices to evaluate data and recommend best practices for current and future roofing needs.
  • Create and manage project schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate evolving requirements.
  • Oversee multiple projects at various stages, from identification through design, planning, client approval, and financial closure.
  • Ensure project safety in accordance with Mantis Innovation's safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Participate in meetings and activities that involve client engagement and project discussions.
  • Act as a liaison between the Mantis project team and clients to ensure alignment with expected outcomes.
  • Lead engagement reviews and quality assurance processes.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
Specification Writing and Estimating
  • Conduct thorough assessments of building envelopes to evaluate existing conditions and provide tailored roofing solutions.
  • Prepare detailed bidding documents, technical specifications, and construction details.
  • Make informed recommendations for comprehensive roof management based on inspection findings.
  • Prepare cost estimates for repairs, restorations, maintenance, and replacements across various properties.
  • Perform moisture surveys, drainage analyses, warranty audits, and pre-design evaluations.
  • Engage in ongoing education to enhance industry best practices.
  • Conduct reviews and generate reports utilizing internal databases and software tools.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial roof design, including project management, estimating, and specification writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Certification as a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) or Registered Roof Observer (RRO).
  • Project Management certification.
