Job Summary

ABM Industries is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to join our team in a Data Center role. This is a full-time position that requires operating and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as ensuring the safe and proper operation of life safety equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including troubleshooting electrical problems and restoring power when failures occur.
  • Install and maintain lighting and controls for lighting, as well as small projects such as installing conduit and wiring.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair equipment associated with HVAC, chilled water systems, and mechanical operations.
  • Ensure the safe and proper operation of life safety equipment and minor plumbing.
  • Respond to customer requests, submit and close work orders, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to perform all work using proper personnel protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to perform all applicable safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and consistently achieve results.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. of equipment, work on platforms, ladders, and under a raised floor.
