Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Infectious Disease Physician to join our team. As a member of our Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, you will provide superior subspecialty clinical care to children in Central Virginia, while also contributing to outstanding training in infectious diseases for medical students, residents, and subspecialty fellows.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations for children with complex, chronic, recurrent, or particularly difficult to treat infectious disease patients.
Collaborate with other pediatric medical professionals to provide consultation and advice on infectious disease issues pertinent to their patients.
Participate in clinical, translational, and outcomes research, and contribute to the generation of new knowledge in the field of pediatric infectious diseases.

Requirements:

Board certified or board eligible in pediatric infectious diseases.
Experience with clinical care of patients, preferably in an academic medical center.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical or basic science research experience, with the ability to apply for and obtain early career awards from the NIH or other funding agencies.
