Job Description

As a key member of the Fair Lending Analytics and Modeling team at Fannie Mae, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's strategic direction through data-driven insights and recommendations. Your expertise will contribute to the overall direction of quantitative analytical activities and facilitate collaboration with business unit activities.

The Impact You Will Make

  • Provide trusted advice to senior leadership, offering data-driven insights and recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance analytical capabilities and expand the use of analytics across the organization.
  • Review traditional and artificial intelligence/machine learning models for algorithmic bias and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform fair lending statistical analysis to identify and measure fair lending risk, and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs for analytical support, fair lending testing, and quantitative analysis.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data connections to support fair lending assessments and data quality initiatives.
  • Evaluate policy changes and analytic techniques to ensure alignment with fair lending objectives.
  • Communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clear understanding of analytical findings.
  • Test new products and changes to pricing models for fair lending implications, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify special monitoring requirements based on routine data analysis, and collaborate with teams to implement necessary controls.
  • Assist in fair lending risk assessments and compliance program reviews, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Apply best practices in research and fair lending testing to model, product, and policy development, ensuring fair lending objectives are met.
  • Partner with teams to design data visualizations, technical documentation, and non-technical presentation materials to communicate ideas and solutions to business partners, management, and regulators.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of related data analytics and reporting experience, with expertise in statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL, with experience in coding, debugging, and validating analytical models.
  • Skilled in documentation and database reporting for analysis, data discovery, and decision-making.
  • Experience in analyzing data to identify trends or relationships, and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with different business units, and ability to streamline, validate, and test analytical processes.
