GENERAL OVERVIEW


Under the guidance of the Custodial Supervisor, the Custodial Services Associate is tasked with executing maintenance and sanitation duties as directed by the Custodial Supervisor. This role involves completing necessary training and certifications to meet operational standards while adhering to established protocols and regulations.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform general custodial duties, including but not limited to dusting, mopping, vacuuming, restroom sanitation, and replenishing paper and soap supplies.

  • Execute all tasks as outlined in the Task and Frequency Charts relevant to the assigned area.

  • Conduct floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing hard surface floors, and shampooing/steam cleaning carpets.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, such as basic upkeep of custodial equipment, replacing light bulbs, and changing facility filters.

  • Ensure accountability and functionality of assigned tools and equipment, reporting any discrepancies to the Custodial Supervisor.

  • Complete all required training to ensure compliance and task execution.

  • Accurately identify and utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals for various tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including following posted procedures, equipment operating instructions, and Safety Data Sheets, while reporting any safety concerns or violations to the Custodial Supervisor.

  • Responsible for reporting discrepancies, equipment damage, facility issues, safety violations, and following reporting procedures.

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

F. Physical Demands

This position may require frequent bending, lifting, twisting, reaching overhead, and standing for extended periods. Staff must be able to navigate stairs and lift up to 30 pounds.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.

Must possess clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent time management abilities.

Basic arithmetic skills are necessary.

Critical thinking skills such as analysis and evaluation are essential.

Must demonstrate professionalism and approachability as a representative of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

B. Experience

No prior experience is required.

C. Other Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to obtain necessary clearances and immunizations as mandated.
