Position Overview:
CULINARY – LINE COOK - FULL TIME - PM SECOND SHIFT


The Pittsburgh Airport Marriott is seeking skilled culinary professionals to join our team. Our hotel features a variety of food and beverage outlets for guests to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Our PM Line Cook will utilize their culinary expertise to ensure consistent quality of offerings for our evening guests.

Previous experience as a line cook is essential, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment. Candidates must have flexible availability, including weekends.

Our PM Line Cook will uphold high standards of food quality, presentation, and cost control in accordance with food specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items in alignment with production requirements and quality standards while ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment.

- Create consistently high-quality food following recipe cards and production and portion standards, based on guest orders from servers.

- Initiate food items that are prepared in advance, ensuring not to over-prepare based on estimated needs.

- Assist in the preparation of vegetables and condiments as needed for the next shift.

- Support the preparation of banquet meals as assigned.

- Label all food containers and rotate stock, ensuring perishables are maintained at appropriate temperatures.

- Monitor pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pulls, and line setups. Note any out-of-stock items or potential shortages.

- Operate, maintain, and properly clean kitchen equipment. Assess the condition of areas and equipment, notifying management of any issues.

- Assist in storing food upon delivery, labeling and rotating all food containers as required.

- Complete the breakdown and cleaning of the line and necessary workstations at the end of the business day.

- Maintain a thorough understanding of emergency and life safety procedures, adhering to all key control protocols.

- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively in English. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Strong attention to detail is essential. Must be willing to assist colleagues with their responsibilities and be a team player. Finger/hand dexterity is required to operate food machinery. Ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry, or otherwise move goods weighing up to 100 lbs. on a continuous basis.
