Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Unit as a Charge Nurse. This role will involve working primarily in the Medical Surgical Unit, focusing on diverse medical diagnoses except for Cardiac. The successful candidate will have previous charge experience and be able to perform responsibilities on two similar level-of-care units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care
- Develop and implement effective nursing strategies to improve patient outcomes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery
- Manage patient ratios and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient workflow
- Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions
- Monitor patient progress, identify areas for improvement, and make adjustments as needed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical setting
- Previous charge experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare facility
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Excellent clinical skills, with the ability to assess patient needs and develop effective care plans
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to nursing practice
