**Job Title:** Medical Surgical Unit Nurse

**Location:** Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, ME

**Estimated Salary:** $55,000 - $65,000 per year

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Surgical Unit Nurse to join our team at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse on our medical surgical unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and their families, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide safe and effective patient care by using best practices during hand-off communication and when reporting patient care information.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and staff while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Recognize and respond to abnormal diagnostic data and report to appropriate providers.
- Utilize theoretical knowledge base to operationalize care and demonstrate awareness of evidence-based practice.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and interdisciplinary teams, seeking assistance for conflict resolution as needed.
- Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team to maximize patient care and contribute to a healthy work environment.

Requirements:

- Current RN licensure in the state of Maine.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- High school diploma or general educational development (GED) equivalent required.

Working Conditions:

- Alternate shift schedules, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
- Lifting, moving, and loading 30-50 pounds may be required.
