Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that designated areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized following established protocols. Your duties will include tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and restocking supplies. You may also assist in arranging furniture for events and addressing urgent cleaning requests promptly.

  • Execute cleaning and disinfection tasks in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Assist with furniture arrangements for various spaces.
  • Manage housekeeping supplies and equipment efficiently.
  • Respond swiftly to emergency cleaning situations.
  • Prioritize cleaning tasks in clinical environments.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year preferred in housekeeping, particularly in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Credentials: A valid Driver's License may be required.
  • Skills: Proficient verbal and written communication, ability to work independently, strong customer service orientation, and basic computer skills.

Departmental Notes

In the SJMC & Columbia Network, you may have access to additional resources based on operational needs. Some roles may necessitate a valid Driver's License for offsite travel.

Working Conditions

Lifting Requirements:

  • Continuous movement and lifting activities.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling tasks.
  • Regular reaching and bending motions.
  • Handling various weights, ranging from 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional carrying of items up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasional squatting and kneeling.

Environmental Factors:

  • Exposure to biohazards and chemicals.
  • Ability to work in environments with elevated noise levels.
  • Exposure to potentially toxic substances.

Mental/Visual Requirements:

  • Normal vision and hearing capabilities are essential.
  • Effective communication skills are necessary.
