Job Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) - Surgical Oncology, you will provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. You will assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. You will also assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment. Additionally, you will obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe the physiological manifestations of patients, and intervene when necessary. You will administer medication as prescribed, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products, and deliver patient care competently. You will interact with family and patient in sharing the care plan while in the hospital and upon discharge, inform patients and families of hospital procedures, make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel, delegate tasks to support staff, and perform other duties as assigned.
