Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Surgical Oncology

Job Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Night - 3x1- 7 PM - 7 AM

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience

License: Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)

Certifications:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association

Must-Have:

  • Oncology Nursing Society/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONS/ONCC) required

Job Description:

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting, addressing a range of health issues from simple to complex.
  • Take responsibility for an assigned group of patients, ensuring their needs are met and documented.
  • Collaborate with physicians to examine patients and perform minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Monitor physiological data, observe manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver patient care competently, interacting with family and patients to share the care plan during hospital stays and upon discharge.
  • Inform patients and families of hospital procedures, and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
  • Basic computer skills.

Education Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program
