Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant to join our team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.

About the Role:

The Registered Nurse First Assistant provides a safe and therapeutic environment by collaborating with surgeons and healthcare teams to perform safe operations with optimal patient outcomes. This role requires a strong understanding of perioperative nursing practices and the ability to work collaboratively with others.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide preoperative nursing care and work collaboratively with others to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Assist surgeons and healthcare teams during operations to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Continuously improve care and enhance outcomes by incorporating data and information.
  • Provide direction and guidance to others regarding practice and serve as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of Perioperative Nursing practice as both a scrub and circulating nurse.
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • CNOR and ACLS certifications.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
