Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our team at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.
About the Role:The RNFA will provide exceptional patient care and support to surgeons and healthcare teams in the operating room. This role requires a strong foundation in perioperative nursing, with a focus on providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams to provide safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Assist with surgical procedures, including preparing patients, maintaining asepsis, and providing hemostasis.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes or complications during surgery.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- 5 years of experience in perioperative nursing, with a focus on first assisting.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or eligibility for licensure under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
