Mental Health Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Intern to join our team at Rosies Recovery Center. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a clinical setting while working under the supervision of licensed mental health professionals.
This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills in the field of mental health counseling. You will work with a diverse range of clients, assisting them in addressing their mental health concerns and improving their overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments and assist in the formulation of treatment plans for clients.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with licensed mental health professionals to develop and implement appropriate treatment interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment strategies.
- Assist in crisis intervention and risk assessment as needed.
- Conduct research and literature reviews to inform evidence-based practice.
- Stay current with developments in the field of mental health counseling through ongoing training and professional development activities.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal standards in all aspects of client care.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for clients from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Master's degree program in Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.
- Completion of coursework in counseling theories, assessment, and treatment modalities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and work effectively within a team.
- Empathy and compassion for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Knowledge of ethical guidelines and legal standards governing mental health counseling.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to issues of diversity and inclusion.
- Willingness to receive supervision and feedback from licensed mental health professionals.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
