Medical Records Specialist Job Description

At Surgery Care Affiliates, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing and organizing medical records in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies, as well as state and federal laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and organize medical records in a timely manner
  • Ensure completeness of the record by auditing charts and completing a medical records checklist
  • Handle the storage and retention of charts, respond to requests for medical records, copy and maintain medical record tracking logs
  • Function within the Center's policies and procedures, support SCA Values, SCA Vision and SCA Mission
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school preferred
  • Three to five years' experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field
  • Computer experience, Excel, Word, Medical Billing Software and Applications
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
Compensation:

$16.54/Hr. - $23.43/Hr.
