Job Summary

The Assistant Dean for Information Technology is a key leadership position within the School of Medicine, responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of IT initiatives to support the school's mission and goals. This role requires a strong understanding of IT trends, technologies, and best practices, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement IT strategic plans to support the school's mission and goals
  • Provide leadership and oversight of IT initiatives, including infrastructure, applications, and services
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, faculty, and staff to identify and prioritize IT needs and opportunities
  • Develop and manage IT budgets and resources to support strategic initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to IT staff to ensure effective delivery of IT services
Requirements
  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • 10-15 years of experience in IT leadership, with a strong background in IT strategy, planning, and implementation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of IT trends, technologies, and best practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • Significant experience in IT leadership within a complex academic medical center
  • Extensive knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies and trends
  • Superior management, analytical, organizational, communication, and planning skills
