Full-Time LPN or RN Unit Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-Time LPN or RN Unit Manager to join our team at CommuniCare Advantage. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of nursing care for residents and providing leadership to the nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the delivery of nursing care for residents and ensure that care standards are met.
- Provide leadership to the nursing staff and ensure that they are performing their work assignments within acceptable nursing standards.
- Develop and communicate shift assignments for nursing staff and monitor job performance.
- Communicate with ancillary departments and nursing staff at shift change on resident conditions, needs, and concerns.
- Ensure that all nursing staff follow established departmental policies and procedures.
- Evaluate staff performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure appropriate recognition for staff achievement.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure interdisciplinary staff participation.
- Promptly investigate and report any allegations of resident abuse, neglect, or misappropriation.
- Follow up on written pharmacy recommendations and dietary recommendations.
- Assist with monthly change over in physician orders and review telephone orders received in the last 24 hours.
- Engage in effective communication with the Director of Nursing and identify issues/concerns/problems on the unit.
- Participate in on-call rotation and 24-hour responsibility for assigned unit.
- Manage resources available in the role of unit manager and ensure that needed resources are available.
- Provide professional nursing care to residents and participate in the development of a written care plan and assessment for each resident.
- Current license as an LPN in the state where the center is located.
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN program.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in long term care.
- Must maintain current CPR certification.
- Previous supervisory/management experience required.
