About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Professional to join our team at Block Island Beach House. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties in a proactive and preventative manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance to ensure the optimal performance and safety of our equipment and systems.
  • Project Planning: Plan and budget projects in conjunction with our management team to ensure alignment with our budget and property performance.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Evaluate proposals from vendors to determine the best course of action to resolve deficiencies or maintenance issues.
  • Safety and Security: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property-specific safety and security procedures, including emergency shut-offs and key vendors.
  • Guest Room Maintenance: Regularly maintain guest rooms to ensure they meet our standards.
  • Additional Maintenance: Take on additional maintenance requests as assigned.
  • Record Keeping: Record all equipment serviced and repairs made.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Plan and implement preventative maintenance procedures to maximize equipment operations and minimize safety risks.
  • Building Maintenance: Check the building for any damage and make repairs as needed.
Requirements
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written, with guests and employees.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Carpentry Skills: Strong carpentry abilities.
  • HVAC Experience: Familiarity and progressive experience working with Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration equipment.
  • Electrical and Plumbing Knowledge: Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
  • Education: Must have graduated from high school or received a GED or equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Stellar communication skills, attention to detail, and work ethic.
  • Availability: Available to be on call and respond to maintenance requests on nights and weekends.
  • Experience: 2+ years of maintenance experience.
