Role Overview

As a key member of our team, the Wind Technician III will report directly to the Site Manager and play a vital role in the maintenance and repair of wind turbine systems. This position is designed for those who are skilled in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance, with a focus on ensuring optimal and safe operation of wind turbines. You will leverage your advanced technical skills and self-motivation to perform maintenance tasks with minimal supervision, adapting procedures as necessary to meet operational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on wind turbines.
  • Conduct maintenance, repairs, and replacements of turbine components to ensure functionality.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment for troubleshooting and verification.
  • Be available for a flexible on-call schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of technical experience in the wind industry, or six months of experience combined with a Wind Technician program certification, or three years of experience in related mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical fields.
  • Proficient in using intermediate-level power tools, including hydraulic and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and protocols.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and the ability to obtain a Passport.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate internet-based programs and interpret data.
  • Capable of climbing towers up to 300 feet unassisted and working in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and their proper usage.
  • In-depth understanding of wind turbine system components and the ability to perform necessary repairs.
