Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Medical Supervisor to lead our Kitten Nursery and Parvo ICU departments at our state-of-the-art Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the 24/7 operations of the medical areas, ensuring complete and humane care is given in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the care and treatment of animals in isolation, intensive care units.
  • Compile and report on all departmental activities of the overseen medical areas.
  • Train new staff members, create staffing schedules, approve time cards, and coach staff as required.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure efficient flow and treatment of all patients.
  • Evaluate, update, and implement new/existing policies and procedures to keep medical areas in adherence to all board, OSHA, and AAHA requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Graduation from technical school plus two years of working in the veterinary field is required.
  • Two years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Perform all duties of a Clinic Technician II or CVT.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and balance multiple priorities and delegate when appropriate.
  • Strong communication skills are needed.
  • Should have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflict.
Work Environment

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
