Job Summary:

As a key member of the CarolinaEast Health System team, the Lead Oncology Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy, this position is responsible for supervising the pharmacy department, training new pharmacists, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff to optimize patient care and department operations
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive cancer care
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing
  • Provide training and education to new pharmacists and staff members
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program with current licensure as a pharmacist in the state of practice
  • Preferably completed an ASHP-accredited residency program in Oncology or other advanced training/certifications such as Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist
  • Ability to use the Pharmacy computer system at an acceptable level after training
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy principles and practices, with a focus on oncology
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
