Role Summary:
As an Automotive Service Coordinator at Christian Brothers Automotive, you will be pivotal in ensuring exceptional service delivery within our automotive facility. Your strong communication and organizational abilities will enable you to liaise effectively with technicians, address customer inquiries, and maintain an orderly repair log, thereby optimizing productivity and operational efficiency.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with parts suppliers and external partners to guarantee that our shop is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to perform repairs accurately. Building strong relationships with vendors and customers will be essential in upholding our reputation as a reliable automotive service provider.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage an efficient dispatch system.
- Schedule tasks to maximize productivity while adhering to shop policies, distributing service tickets to technicians based on workload and customer requirements.
- Review digital vehicle inspections conducted by technicians.
- Maintain an organized and current repair log.
- Respond to customer inquiries and prepare accurate estimates.
- Communicate the best repair solutions to customers in an understandable manner.
- Ensure all work meets specifications and is completed within the promised timeframe.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parts and tool vendors.
- Prioritize technician workloads based on parts availability.
- Compile a list of required equipment and supplies for the service department, discussing repairs with the Service Manager.
- Coordinate maintenance for shop equipment.
- Oversee the parts supply process, including inventory management, pricing, returns, and warranty claims.
- Engage regularly with external vendors regarding parts inventory and pricing.
- Collaborate with team members and assist colleagues as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with technicians, customers, and team members.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple work orders and schedules.
- Proficient customer service skills to address inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with Windows-based software and automotive applications.
- Previous experience in automotive sales, advisory, or estimating roles is preferred.
- Proficient spelling and typing skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Dependability and reliability for a standard Monday to Friday schedule.
- Ability to remain on your feet for most of the workday.
- Occasional lifting of objects weighing over 50 lbs.
- Capacity to maintain a brisk pace in a high-volume environment.
