MSS Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Co-op to join our team for the upcoming 2024 Fall Semester.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Co-op to assist our team in the design and implementation of building automation systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including the construction of two 320,000 square feet towers for a laboratory research building and a medical school.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation of building automation system control drawings, schematics, equipment selections, electrical load calculations, systems narratives, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of HVAC controls, electrical, and building automation system designs.
  • Review product documentation from other construction trades to determine proper interfaces to monitor electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other equipment via building automation system equipment.
  • Participate in testing and troubleshooting activities to identify and resolve project issues.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation, such as specifications and test reports.
  • Participate in the development of engineering tools and documentation to support field staff as well as automate engineering processes to support common inquiries.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in building automation, electrical, and mechanical engineering technology.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to relevant codes and regulations.
  • Assist sales staff with bid package technical product documentation.
  • Effectively communicate and follow up with sales personnel, design engineers, and product management teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and responses are efficiently executed.
  • Support the efforts of other Application Engineers, Product Managers, and Sales personnel.
Requirements
  • Current enrollment in an Undergraduate Electrical Engineering program.
  • Availability for two work cycles (or at least 3 semesters).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently, changing priorities as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
