Job Title: Primary Psychotherapist

About the Role:

Nexus Health Systems Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Psychotherapist to join our interdisciplinary treatment team. As a Primary Psychotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing assessments and treatment of mental health issues through individual, group, and family psychotherapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, monitor, and document individualized mental health treatment goals and objectives for each patient as part of the interdisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based individual, milieu, group, and family psychotherapy, as well as other clinical therapeutic interventions in accordance with the patient's interdisciplinary treatment plan and the behavioral health program.
  • Schedule and coordinate one to two weekly individual sessions with the patient and one family session with the guardians, unless otherwise established by the interdisciplinary treatment plan.
  • Work under the guidance of the Program Director to establish a caseload and weekly group coverage schedule.
  • Provide timely and adequate documentation of all sessions and patient encounters.
  • Provide staff members with de-escalation techniques, psychoeducation, and other effective clinical strategies for caring for individuals with behavioral and medical issues.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team conferences with the interdisciplinary team for all patients on caseload.
  • Provide ongoing assessments to identify and address behavioral concerns that are interfering with medical or physical rehabilitation progress.
  • Communicate and coordinate intervention with the interdisciplinary team to achieve cohesion and effectiveness in a specialized psychiatric, medical, and physical rehabilitation inpatient program.
  • Effectively communicate and provide accurate updates to the Program Director and Program Medical Director regarding treatment planning, behavioral programming, clinical coordination, goals, objectives, areas of clinical concern, progress, and the services successfully implemented.
  • Provide recommendations and actively participate in discharge planning and transition from the hospital to the next level of care.
  • Professionally present self when representing the facility.
  • Stay current with the latest research and practices in the behavioral management and care of patients with behavioral health concerns as it applies to the role of the psychological treatment team.
  • Participate in ongoing program development meetings to assess the efficacy of current programs and make recommendations for treatment fidelity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree required.
  • Training and experience in developing, training, implementing, and monitoring written behavioral programs.
  • Minimum two (2) years working in an inpatient hospital/rehab setting preferred.
  • LPC, LMSW, or LCSW licensure required.
  • Must be certified in BLS.
