Lead Environmental Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Project Manager to join our team at Sargent & Lundy, a global leader in power and energy.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in environmental regulations and project management to deliver high-quality results for our clients. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects related to nuclear power facilities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and implement federal, state, and local regulatory requirements as they apply to specific projects.
- Develop strategies to implement cost-effective mitigation compliance plans.
- Prepare site-specific environmental reports and studies to evaluate the suitability of a site for a proposed nuclear power facility.
- Work with project engineers to ensure projects are designed and developed using criteria that recognize all relevant environmental requirements.
- Prepare permit applications and interface with federal, state, and local permitting agencies.
- Prepare complex technical reports, including site selection studies, environmental and social impact assessments, compliance audits, and regulatory reviews.
Requirements:
- A BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (MS preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in preparing federal Environmental Reports, Environmental Impact Statements, other NEPA documents, and permit applications.
- Demonstrated understanding of federal environmental regulations implementing the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act.
- Experience evaluating and interpreting site-specific environmental site surveys, ecology, wetlands, archeology, and noise studies.
- Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations that apply to nuclear facilities.
