We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the UT Health Science Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance services and repairs in various areas, including plumbing, machine servicing, electrical, and vehicle servicing.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Inspect, repair, install, modify, rebuild, construct, and maintain woodwork and other related structures.
  • Provide field supervision to maintenance staff assigned to their shift.
  • Oversee and/or perform repairs and inspections of specialized equipment and/or services.
  • Monitor and maintain records of all inspections, repairs, and/or services performed to equipment and facilities.
  • Complete work orders using automated maintenance program systems.
  • Review records and other related information on a continual basis for recurring problems.
  • Interface with UTHSCT departments and others to coordinate outages of equipment or services provided.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards as required.
  • Maintain expertise in applicable existing and developing technology of equipment or services through training and related material.
  • Coordinate construction projects involving multiple trades.
  • Interpret codes to determine appropriate construction techniques and processes.
  • Work as part of a construction team for in-house UTHSCT projects.
  • Work with technical and specific equipment as required.
  • Identify and report safety hazards.
  • Confer with personnel, such as management, engineering, quality control, customers, and co-workers to coordinate work activities and resolve problems.
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities such as HVAC or utility systems and analyze information to determine installation, service, or repair needed.

Requirements:


  • Responsible for the execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform tasks in a way to assure a high quality of workmanship is maintained and is accountable for the results.
