Adventist HealthCare is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our Expressive Therapy Department. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for patients to engage in therapeutic activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, incorporating their interests and abilities.
- Organize and lead group activities, such as arts and crafts, music, and social events, to promote socialization and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment by promoting cultural sensitivity and respect.
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Current certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
- 2+ years of experience in acute care psychiatric settings; experience with Expressive Therapy a plus.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
