Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Recreation Therapist to join our Expressive Therapy Department at Adventist HealthCare. As a Recreation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic activities and programs to patients, promoting their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and conduct therapeutic activities such as dance, music, arts, crafts, social activities, trips, group discussions, and special programs tailored to patients' needs, capabilities, and interests.
  • Participate in the development of treatment plans for patients, evaluating their medical records and providing input on their care.
  • Document specialized therapy assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in patients' charts, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by demonstrating knowledge of safety issues and proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in ordering and maintaining Expressive Therapy supplies and equipment.
  • Observe changes in patients' behavior and health condition, reporting to the RN as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a Master's degree preferred (e.g., recreation therapy, music therapy, art therapy).
  • Recreation Therapy certification as CTRS, with a Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy required and a Master's degree preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in an acute care psychiatric setting, with board certification/registration preferred.
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Work Schedule:

Sunday-Tuesday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Pay Range: $39.03
