Job Title: Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing excellence at Soap Creek Resources by providing technical support and effective execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support (70%):
    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on control systems at the Metal Casting Facility.
    • Manage a comprehensive range of tasks related to industrial automation and control systems, including but not limited to:
      • Programming Rockwell Automation PLC Controllers/Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
      • Programming and maintaining variable frequency drives.
      • Collaborating with the manufacturing IT department to maintain production network infrastructure and handle data acquisition, schematics, and updates for all automation programs.
  • Equipment Safety (10%):
    • Actively participating in safety and machine guarding committees, addressing findings and implementing engineering controls.
    • Conducting detailed troubleshooting and analysis on production equipment, formulating and implementing solutions.
  • Project Assistance (10%):
    • Supporting the engineering and operations teams in implementing new equipment, providing expertise in project automation.
    • Partnering with contractors during the implementation process and taking ownership of the maintenance plan post-installation.
    • Providing hands-on technical oversight for equipment retrofits and upgrades.
  • Manufacturing Execution (10%):
    • Facilitating the collection, processing, and delivery of manufacturing data to the operations team, providing actionable feedback.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience, with an emphasis on Rockwell Automation controls programming and troubleshooting.
  • 2-year Industrial Technology degree with 3 years of manufacturing experience, focusing on Rockwell Automation controls programming and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Experience with robotic systems.
  • Strong understanding of industrial process controls.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
