Job Summary:

To operate mammographic equipment to take x-ray exposures of patients as requested by referring physicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and explain the mammographic procedure to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
  • Review patients' medical history prior to performing the mammographic procedure and confirm that they have signed a consent form if necessary.
  • Take x-ray exposures of patients following established protocols for radiation intensity and exposure time.
  • Process and inspect images to ensure they meet the requirements of radiologists.
  • Maintain equipment and examination rooms, store film, and manage inventory of related supplies.
  • Prepare patient files with relevant information, including patient name, date of x-ray, referring physician, and number of exposures.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required by state and federal regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Mammography Technologist, including on-the-job training and internships, or registry-eligible ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (obtained within six months of hire) with a minimum of one year of recent experience as a Radiological technologist with ARRT.
  • Specialized training in mammographic technology is required.
Additional Requirements:
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, hear, speak, and see.
  • Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.
