Job Title: Histology Technician

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team in Burke, Virginia.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist in the preparation and analysis of histological specimens. The successful candidate will have a strong background in histology and laboratory procedures, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process histological specimens for microscopic analysis
  • Embed and section tissues according to standard operating procedures
  • Perform routine and special staining procedures, including cover-slipping and labeling slides
  • Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, including variance forms and process specimen logs
  • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality results
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in histology or a related field
  • ASCP Histotechnician (HT) certification or equivalent
