Palliative Care Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Bereavement and Palliative Care Social Worker to join our team at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide high-quality care and support during times of crisis.

About the Role

This is a dynamic position that requires strong social work skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and their families to identify areas of need
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans of care to address patient goals and objectives
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families, addressing concerns related to illness, grief, and bereavement
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and progress
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education-accredited university
  • Licensure as a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW-C) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Maryland
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in hospice or palliative care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations
Benefits and Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $51,351.55 - $79,594.90, based on qualifications, education, and experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
