Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ESOL instructor to join our team at Commonpoint Queens. As a Language and Culture Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering English language classes tailored to the needs of immigrants and their families in the Bronx.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $60,000 per year. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and facilitating sector-based contextualized ESOL instruction with a focus on health care, as well as collaborating with various teams to recruit eligible students and ensure successful outcomes for ESOL learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Curriculum: Create engaging and effective ESOL curriculum for beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level learners.
  • Deliver Instruction: Facilitate sector-based contextualized ESOL instruction with a focus on health care, using virtual learning tools and online platforms.
  • Recruit and Collaborate: Assist with conducting intake, outreaching, and recruiting for potential ESOL clients, as well as collaborating with various teams for job placement and wrap-around services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, education, counseling, public policy, or related field.
  • TESOL or CELTA certification.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in ESOL instruction.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing lesson plans and facilitating classroom lessons and workshops, both virtually and in person.
