Job Summary

Talencia LLC is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide competent and caring nursing skills to patients in a telemetry setting.
  • Assess, interpret, and respond to physiologic elements, including cardiac rhythm strips and IV drip titration.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing plans of care, incorporating patient education and communication with physicians.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Participate in daily rounds, providing ongoing assessment and teaching to patients and families.
  • Recognize and respond to life-threatening situations, including chest pain and cardiac-related symptoms.
  • Document patient care and outcomes accurately and thoroughly, utilizing current standards and protocols.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year of med-surg experience, with preference for telemetry experience.
  • Current MA RN License.
  • BLS-AHA and ACLS certifications.

Essential Functions
  • Provides patient care based on standards of care, standards of practice, protocols, and established policies and procedures.
  • Respects each patient as an individual, providing care that fosters a sense of dignity and positive self-regard.
  • Provides patient/family teaching based on identified learning needs, readiness to learn, and barriers to learning.
  • Collaboratively plans and prepares patient/family for discharge, incorporating support systems/resources as necessary.
  • Appropriately delegates and supervises nursing interventions performed by others.
  • Appropriately prioritizes patient care, seeking assistance as needed from appropriate resources.
  • Provides thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of all pertinent data, therapeutic interventions, and patient responses.
  • Provides timely and thorough report on assigned patients to other healthcare team members.
  • Promotes learning for colleagues and self, functioning as a preceptor, instructor, trainer, or attending professional development programs.
  • Proactively identifies risk to patient safety and identifies opportunities to reduce medical/healthcare errors.
  • Identifies ethical issues in care and develops a plan to address.
  • Safely administers medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with physician orders, protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Assesses patient pain level upon admission and as necessary, depending on diagnosis, utilizing the numerical pain scale.
  • Reassesses effectiveness of pain control and notifies physicians as needed, documenting assessment and patient response to medication.
  • Responsible for obtaining supporting information and completing required documentation related to medication reconciliation for use by the Attending MD.
  • Interprets and documents patient cardiac rate, rhythm, and configuration, and initiates appropriate treatment plan based on physician orders.
  • Institutes appropriate measures in life-threatening situations.
  • Evaluates and takes appropriate action for patients with chest pain or other cardiac-related symptoms.
  • Participates actively in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
  • Recognizes normal and abnormal laboratory and diagnostic results and appropriately notifies the physician of changes in a timely manner.
  • Provides ongoing assessment and teaching to the surgical patient/family, utilizing current standards and protocols.
  • Recognizes normal and deviant progress patterns and reports problems or concerns to physician in a timely manner.
  • Provides ongoing assessment and teaching to the surgical patient/family, utilizing current standards and protocols.
  • Utilizes pain management devices and other techniques to ensure proper pain relief.
  • Sets up, maintains, and troubleshoots other equipment related to the surgical patient, such as traction/orthopedic equipment/devices, feeding pumps, chest tubes, and drains.
