Key Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this role is to develop test environments for the validation and qualification of memory systems within Western Digital's enterprise SSD offerings.

  • Design and implement software for memory systems testing platforms using Python and C, including the creation of classes, APIs, libraries, test programs, tools, and documentation.
  • Develop a user-friendly frontend interface in JavaScript for configuring, managing, and monitoring tests and testers.
  • Oversee the hardware integration and upgrades for new PCIe generations.
  • Establish and maintain a data pipeline linking our testing processes with the engineering databases.
  • Collaborate with memory systems teams to provide feedback and enhance test designs.
  • Conduct failure analysis on issues arising within the test environment, including hardware, software, and frontend components.

Additional Responsibilities:
Other tasks may include:

  • Basic understanding of SSD system-level concepts.
  • Familiarity with NAND management algorithms and testing methodologies.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as software development, system integration, NVMe technology, NAND devices, storage device design and testing, failure analysis, and testing infrastructure development.
  • Proficiency in Python is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
  • Familiarity with C, JavaScript, GIT, GitHub, and AGILE methodologies is highly valued.
  • Awareness of recent advancements in Generative AI, Copilot, machine learning, and deep learning is a plus.
  • A proven track record of achieving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within and across teams.
  • Capability to troubleshoot and analyze complex issues.
  • Excellent multitasking abilities and adherence to deadlines.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
