Key Responsibilities:
The Patient Care Assistant in the Float Pool is an unlicensed supportive role that aids with daily living activities, delivers basic nursing care to non-critical patients, and contributes to maintaining a safe environment under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse overseeing the team and/or unit. The Patient Care Assistants in the Float Pool will be assigned as necessary to various departments, including MedSurg, Geropsych, Telemetry, DOU, ICU/CCU, Subacute, and Emergency Department.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification upon hire is required.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and must be maintained.
3. Knowledge of Medical Terminology is essential.
4. A minimum of six months of prior experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office is preferred.
5. At least six months of experience in an acute care hospital or Skilled Nursing is required to float to the Subacute unit.
Facility-Specific Requirements:
1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certification within six months of hire and must be maintained as per facility requirements.

The current compensation range for this role is $19.89 to $26.76, with the exact starting compensation determined at the time of hiring based on various factors, including skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
