Position Overview

The Principal/School Leader will serve as the educational leader of an AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School campus, responsible for overseeing all aspects of school management, including instruction, operations, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Instructional Leadership
  • Oversee the quality of instructional programming across the campus.
  • Partner with the Every Child Ready Implementation and Impact team to ensure the implementation of the ECR instructional model with fidelity.
  • Maximize student achievement by leading a Response to Intervention (RTI) model grounded in research.
Operational Management
  • Provide managerial supervision to school-based operational staff.
  • Ensure school operations run efficiently and effectively.
Community Engagement
  • Build effective relationships with the communities we serve.
  • Establish partnerships with community organizations and external agencies to coordinate programming and communicate AppleTree's value proposition.
Staff Development
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate teachers.
  • Provide coaching and support to instructional staff.
Student Support
  • Lead the Student Support Team (SST) process with parents and instructional staff.
  • Work with the Special Education Manager and Special Education Coordinator to facilitate the multidisciplinary team and individualized education plan processes.
Administrative Tasks
  • Oversee campus budget and operational needs.
  • Participate in network-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

  1. Education
  • Master's degree in education administration, early childhood education, elementary education, reading, special education, speech language pathology, or a closely related field.
Experience
  • Three or more years of successful professional teaching experience teaching young children (PK-3).
  • Previous experience in a school-wide leadership position.
Skills
  • Firm grasp of Response to Intervention (RTI) models and a commitment to data-driven instruction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to coach and support instructional and operational teams.
  • Highly diplomatic with demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
