Position Overview:
This announcement is open for ongoing applications. Multiple roles are available and may be filled as opportunities arise. This position is situated within a prominent military medical facility. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation, and salary negotiations may be considered for candidates new to Federal service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with healthcare providers regarding patient assessments and document relevant events accurately.
- Deliver patient education as a core component of the services provided.
- Conduct psychosocial evaluations of patients to understand cultural practices, comprehension, cooperation, and care expectations.
- Accept educational consults for patients in outpatient settings.
- Coordinate patient referrals to both internal and external support services, including the TRICARE network.
- Assess the effectiveness of educational initiatives.
- Prepare and administer various forms of medication, including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous.

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and experience requirements outlined below.
Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer roles through National Service programs and other organizations.
Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, transcripts will be required.
Basic Requirements for Clinical Nurse:
Degree: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited nursing program is mandatory.
This education must have been accredited by recognized accrediting bodies at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure:
A current, unrestricted license as a professional nurse from a U.S. jurisdiction is required, along with successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination.
Foreign Degree:
For degrees obtained from foreign nursing schools, official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is necessary.
Exemption:
Current federal employees in the 0610 occupational series who have been continuously employed since a specified date may be exempt from the basic requirements.
Education/Experience:
Candidates must possess a diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program and have at least one year of professional nursing experience, which includes providing comprehensive ambulatory care, administering medications, and delivering patient education.
Additional Information:
Male applicants born after a specified date must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required. A one-year trial/probationary period may be necessary. Direct Deposit of Pay is mandatory.
This position may be filled on a permanent, term, part-time, intermittent, or temporary basis. Eligibility for benefits will depend on the type of position held.
Intermittent Positions:
This role does not guarantee work hours weekly and will be assigned on an as-needed basis.
Temporary Positions:
These positions are time-limited and may be extended under certain conditions.
Term Positions:
These roles are time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum duration.
The incumbent may be required to wear uniforms or protective clothing and may be designated as essential during severe weather conditions.
