Continental Tire has a rich history spanning nearly 150 years, consistently innovating to enhance safety, intelligence, sustainability, and accessibility in transportation. We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst to become a vital part of our Controlling team at our Sumter facility.

Position Overview

In this role, you will undertake controlling and financial analysis tasks essential for a manufacturing setting. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver insightful information to management aimed at enhancing profitability, ensuring accurate analysis, and completing month-end closing and budgeting responsibilities, along with various other tasks.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of manufacturing variances and other account evaluations.
  • Examine manufacturing cost scenarios and recommend strategies for improving the financial outcomes of the Sumter facility.
  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested by management, along with any necessary analyses, and engage in discussions with department leaders.
  • Represent the controlling function in business team meetings.
  • Establish or modify processes and procedures as necessary.
  • Review and approve procurement and personnel requests.
  • Assist in financial assessments for new investment opportunities.
  • Ensure the thoroughness of month-end closing processes (including forecasts) and budget-related tasks (e.g., variance analysis, fixed costs, balance sheet items, preparation of D-Charts).
  • Drive the plant towards achieving financial objectives for all operational activities impacting Sumter's financial performance.
  • Oversee the rollout of new controlling tools, processes, and procedures as directed by central manufacturing controlling, the Americas, or global headquarters.
  • Take on additional responsibilities within the Controlling team as needed, such as investment controlling or product costing.
  • Ensure the implementation of safety measures and maintain controls, promote awareness of ESH responsibilities, ensure prompt reporting and response, and initiate preventive actions in case of unsafe or environmentally harmful situations, demonstrating exemplary behavior in ESH and encouraging others.
  • Perform other duties or assignments as directed by the Plant Controller.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Financial Controlling within a manufacturing context.
  • Proficiency in understanding and applying US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Continental can provide visa support and relocation for internal candidates.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA.
