Actuarial Analyst Position
Selby Jennings is in search of a talented Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic Commercial Product Development team. This position focuses on evaluating financial risks and crafting actuarial models for product assessments. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience with both small and large group commercial healthcare offerings and will be enthusiastic about introducing innovative concepts to the actuarial function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead collaborative projects, foster relationships with key stakeholders, and guide initiatives by providing expert insights and recommendations.
- Oversee specific business projects, ensuring compliance with established procedures, formulating work plans, and addressing complex challenges while maximizing resource efficiency.
- Review and manage actuarial documentation for financial statements, tax obligations, and insurance compliance, presenting insights to mid-level management.
- Conduct evaluations of product lines, including financial assessments, reserve calculations, and performance reviews.
- Develop sophisticated actuarial research methodologies and frameworks to enhance product development and meet regulatory standards.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities through advanced actuarial techniques and analytical judgment.
- Collaborate with business partners to convert intricate actuarial findings into practical recommendations, ensuring adherence to Actuarial Standards of Practice.
- Design and enhance actuarial models to fulfill business requirements and support informed decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) certification.
Preferred Skills:
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated success in managing actuarial projects and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
