About the Role

Adeia is seeking a seasoned transactional attorney with a patent license background to support outbound licensing and other commercial matters. As the company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and proactive team player to join our Legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate complex domestic and international license agreements, considering various related legal, business, and financial issues.
  • Draft and negotiate inbound license agreements, NDAs, and strategic partnership agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues within the sales, legal, and finance teams.
  • Provide practical advice, lead negotiations, and bring complex commercial deals to closure.
  • Comply with and shape the internal policy of the licensing program and play a key role in improving the licensing program.
Requirements
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in at least one state.
  • 5+ years of experience in drafting and negotiating license agreements.
  • Experience supporting IP acquisition transactions, technology licenses, and other procurement agreements preferred.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Business-oriented lawyer with an understanding of how to translate business needs into contract language.

The base salary range for this position is $180-230k in the San Francisco Bay Area.
