The School Registered Nurse Ambulatory provides health services to facilitate optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development for students within the schools. This role requires a graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited school of nursing or three years of related professional nursing experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and team skills, be compassionate and caring, and be accountable and self-directed.
Responsibilities- Cares for students with chronic health issues and helps identify health needs during the school day.
- Provides health education, medication management, emotional support and referral to higher levels of care based on student needs.
- Supports the education process by working to assure the health of the students.
- Promotes healthy habits and overall health to strengthen maximum learning.
- Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited school of nursing or three years of related professional nursing experience.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
- One year or more of nursing experience required.
- Two years of experience working with pediatric patients required.
- Excellent communication and team skills.
- Compassionate and caring.
- Accountable and self-directed.
