Position Overview

The Culinary Preparation Specialist plays a vital role in our kitchen operations, assisting with various station assignments and ensuring the preparation of both hot and cold dishes in accordance with the Chef's directives.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and set up workstations according to the Chef's specifications.

• Prepare and cook meals as per orders received.

• Process cooking ingredients by washing, chopping vegetables, and cutting meats.

• Perform basic cooking tasks such as reducing sauces and parboiling.

• Create simple dishes including salads and entrees.

• Engage in cooking methods such as sautéing, grilling, and roasting as needed.

• Maintain organization of kitchen supplies, including dry goods and equipment.

• Ensure cleanliness of the workstation throughout the shift, assisting with dishwashing and sanitizing.

• Communicate production needs for the following day by the end of the shift.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

• A minimum of one year of food preparation experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of basic sauces and dressings is advantageous.

Work Environment

• The role requires the ability to reach, crouch, kneel, and stand for extended periods.

• Regular exposure to wet, hot, and humid conditions is expected, along with the need to navigate slippery surfaces.

• Must be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs, either independently or with assistance.
