Job Title: Police Officer

Join the City of Sheridan Police Department as a Police Officer and contribute to maintaining a safe and secure community.

Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Police Officer. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining order, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to deter illegal activities and identify potential threats to public safety.
  • Respond to emergency calls and investigate crimes, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
  • Prepare and process reports, including incident reports, arrest reports, and traffic citations.
  • Apprehend and arrest suspects, and transport them to holding facilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the community, including responding to inquiries and providing information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be 21 years of age by date of hire.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have successfully completed a POST-certified academy and be POST-certified.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license with a clear or acceptable MVR.
Selection Process

The selection process will include a thorough background check, psychological evaluation, polygraph, physical, and drug screen. Candidates who pass the initial screening will be invited to participate in a panel interview and a skills assessment.
