Job Summary:

University Health is seeking a highly skilled Specialty Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide primary health care and perform selective medical services under the direction of specialty physicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations to establish diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including ordering and interpreting lab tests and imaging studies.
  • Collaborate with specialty physicians to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Provide follow-up and health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements in the field.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an educational program for physician assistants or surgeon assistants accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
  • One year of training in the appropriate specialty.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants is recommended.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
  • AHA BLS or higher certification.
  • Valid DEA number.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioners are welcome to apply.
