Job Title: Call Center Specialist, Evenings

Under the supervision of a senior team member, the Call Center Specialist, Evenings will be responsible for answering all calls directed to the hospital's main number, answering service call forwarding lines, and general information inquiries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work efficiently and accurately, and prioritize emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer all calls directed to the hospital's main number and answering service call forwarding lines
  • Provide general information inquiries and respond to customer requests
  • Utilize computerized systems for locating physicians, personnel, and patients
  • Serve as a major contact for all levels of personnel requiring on-call schedule information and access to off-duty personnel
  • Participate in emergency and disaster preparedness situations
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One year of experience in a customer service environment required
  • Experience in a call center, switchboard, answering service, or message center with exposure to texting, paging, and Answering Service applications preferred
  • Typing 35 WPM required
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and Windows-based operating system
  • Proficient with Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply written instructions
Work Environment:

The Call Center Specialist, Evenings will work in a controlled environment with up to 20 co-workers in the same room. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a positive and courteous demeanor in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating call volumes. The position requires manual dexterity sufficient to meet typing requirements and the ability to wear a headset throughout the shift.
