We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Cell Engineer to join our team at First Solar. As a key member of our Process Development group, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and improving the efficiency of our solar cells.
Key Responsibilities- Identify opportunities for improvement in solar cell efficiency through engineering, scientific, or empirical methods.
- Assume ownership of our ALD/CVD deposition operations and other vacuum deposition systems within the organization.
- Develop innovative materials and processes to enhance the surface/interface and bulk properties required for high-efficiency PV devices.
- Control key material properties through material synthesis steps.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments performed hands-on or with help from others.
- Develop and maintain process and equipment related to material research.
- Prepare and present reports and analyses as requested.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners and customers.
- Associate's Degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline and 20 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years of experience as a Development Engineer II at First Solar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to succeed in developing practical solutions that lead to technology innovations and development.
- Familiarity with statistical data analysis and design of experiment methodologies.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to produce clear data and reports, as well as oral presentations.
- Self-driven, energetic, and creative, with good interpersonal skills, including working with cross-functional teams.
- A competitive salary range of $100,000-$161,000 per year.
