Job Overview

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team in Rapid City, SD. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with individuals to help them participate in the activities of daily life (ADLs) and improve their overall well-being. Your primary goal is to enable people to engage in meaningful and purposeful activities despite physical, developmental, social, or emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess clients' physical, cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors that may affect their ability to perform daily activities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to address specific challenges and goals, which may include exercises, activities, and adaptations to enhance independence and function.
  • Work directly with clients to implement treatment plans, which may involve therapeutic exercises, activities, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications.
  • Educate clients and their families about their condition, treatment strategies, and ways to manage daily activities more effectively.
  • Recommend and teach the use of adaptive techniques and assistive devices to help individuals overcome challenges and perform tasks independently.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Work with individuals experiencing mental health challenges to develop coping strategies, improve social skills, and enhance overall mental well-being.
  • In occupational settings, assess and modify work environments to promote safety and productivity for employees.
Qualifications
  • Valid Occupational Therapy Certification in the state of practice.
  • 1 year recent Occupational Therapy experience in a rehab setting.
  • BLS Certification.
